Focus Areas

Food justice, sovereignty and movement building can only be achieved by weaving together the work we all do to create a more sustainable and just food system that benefits us all. On top of rooting our work in historically marginalized communities, we are deeply committed to food movement-activism through coalition building for and with unhoused people and advocacy for farmworkers’ human rights, both of which inform our work for deeper and sustainable impact.

A lot goes into building a food distribution. From food sourcing to waste disposal, we aim to embed empowerment through it all. We hire local vendors, give compost to farmers for their animals, pay food producers an equitable price, and give paid opportunities to folks who need work. We approach our work with care and with the intention of resourcing and supporting everyone we work with.

We are part of various coalitions fighting for unhoused, anti-hunger, and farmworker rights locally and nationwide. We are connected to local tenant organizing, abolitionist organizations, climate change activists, and coalitions committed to building healthy and better alternatives to public safety and community care.

All of our projects and food distributions always center around the power and solution-building of impacted communities. We are devoted to uplifting and empowering communities that have historically been left out of important conversations and decision making around their very own well being. Our goal is to have them lead us. We want to bring them to the table and have them tell their own stories and advocate for their own needs.
