The Robinson S.P.A.C.E

At Polo’s Pantry, we understand the importance of collective organizing and collaboration. Our home base is located in The Robinson S.P.A.C.E. which is a community organizing space in Virgil Village whose our mission is to create and sustain a third space that provides opportunities for community members to actively participate in building toward a more equitable and transformative Los Angeles. As a collective of organizations caring for Los Angeles, we believe that by meeting people's basic needs and nurturing community, we can shift the culture towards abolition, and ultimately bring about the desired future.

Through the Robinson S.P.A.C.E., Polo’s is connected to housing just organizations, tenants unions and other grassroots groups who circulate through the space, creating opportunities for cross-sector power building. We see value in having a physical space that brings people together to build the future we envision for our city. The Robinson SPACE and the organizations in it are essential to generating holistic ecosystems of care that integrate food, housing and safety.
