God’s Pantry
God’s Pantry is our main partner in food recovery, sourcing a third of our distributions. Their pantry, located in Pomona, feeds 8,000 families a month thanks to the work of their staff and volunteers— made up of at risk foster youth, former gang members, and other justice involved individuals. God’s Pantry’s workforce development program offers their staff and volunteers the opportunity to experience a positive environment that promotes healing and gives them the resources they need to thrive.
Beyond recovering food for food distribution, God’s Pantry has a housing program that focuses on transitional aged youth and provides wrap-around services through trusted case management.
While organizing an event for undocumented families back in 2018, Melissa was connected to God’s Pantry by a fellow community organizer from Pomona. This partnership has been a strong foundation for food work as Goose Dolce, Executive Director, of God’s Pantry, has believed in us and has offered valuable guidance and support. We align with their mission to empower and building community through food.
